Calling all musicians, share your talent and bring joy to Margate’s village residents
The sessions range from piano solos and sing-alongs to small ensembles featuring flute, violin, and vocal performances.
Hibiscus Retirement Village comes alive with music every Wednesday afternoon, as a group of amateur musicians host weekly concerts for the residents of the assisted living, frail care, and cottage sections.
These concerts, which run from 15:15 to 16:00, are a highlight on the calendar, offering much-anticipated entertainment and heartfelt joy to the elderly community.
The sessions range from piano solos and sing-alongs to small ensembles featuring flute, violin, and vocal performances.
The group is now in urgent need of more musicians to continue bringing this special experience to the residents. If you have musical talent and could commit to performing once every five or six weeks, your contribution would be warmly welcomed.
“We have a lot of fun, and it is so rewarding to see the joy we bring,” said organisers.
Anyone interested in joining the musical team can contact Moira on 083 2671522 or Shelley on 083 9896278.
