Recycling drive continues in Sea Park
The recycling drive aims to inspire households to rethink their waste habits.
The recycling initiative in Sea Park continues to grow, with dedicated community members doing their part to reduce waste and protect the environment.
Joan Gallagher, a passionate advocate for waste reduction, has encouraged residents on the northern side to keep the upcoming recycling collection dates handy: July 10 and 24, and August 7 and 21.
Collection take place every second Thursday at the Lazer caravan in Sea Park between 07:00 and 09:00.
Gallagher expressed her gratitude to Sizazonke Recycling, particularly Rasta Ranteme and Justin Ramalu, for their ongoing support with collections as well as to all residents actively participating in this initiative.
“Thanks for being part of the solution,” Gallagher said.
“Maybe if we all reduce our waste, the compactors would have less to collect.”
She also shared practical tips on how to reduce waste, such as planning meals to minimise food waste, composting, using reusable products, shopping secondhand, repairing instead of discarding items, and being mindful of recycling labels and greenwashing.
The recycling drive aims to inspire households to rethink their waste habits and play a more active role in environmental conservation.
