Izidro Duarte’s ‘Dance’ on show to aid Umtamvuna Marine Conservancy
Proceeds will support the conservancy's efforts to remove alien invasive plants.
An original oil painting by renowned Marina Beach artist Izidro Duarte is now on display at the Riverbend Art and Wine Gallery in Ramsgate.
Titled Dance and commissioned in 2010, the work was donated to the Umtamvuna Marine Conservancy (UMC) by a benefactor to help raise funds.
Priced at R25 000, the painting is on view for three months.
Proceeds will support UMC’s efforts to remove alien invasive plants, restore natural areas, and run community education programmes.
Duarte’s work has been exhibited internationally and is well-known for its expressive style and strong connection to South African landscapes.
