The 5km or 10km hike starts at the Illovo Sugar Mill, winding its way along a corrugated road that parallels the majestic Mzimkhulu River for about 4km.
This trail leads to the historic St Helen’s Pump House, a pivotal point that marks the transition into a indigenous forest. The trails offer a unique blend of natural wonders and scenic views, which makes it an ideal destination for those seeking adventure and tranquillity.
The walk starts at 08:00 with registration at 07:30. Entry is by donation, with proceeds supporting environmental awareness initiatives.
There is no need to book, just go along and support this initiative. Make sure to take along a hat, water and your hiking sticks. There will be water points along the way.
