Beast of a black mamba caught at chicken farm

It was all action at Riversmead Chicken Farm after a massive black mamba was spotted recently– prompting a call to renowned snake rescuer, Sarel van der Merwe.
The snake, described as ‘a beast’, gave Sarel quite a challenge as it refused to go quietly into its travel box. Eventually, after some careful manoeuvring, Sarel managed to safely contain the venomous reptile.
Once measured, the black mamba came in at an impressive 3.3 metres long.
The snake was safely released in a suitable area far from human activity.
Sarel once again reminds the public not to attempt to handle snakes on their own, especially when it comes to deadly species like the black mamba.
