Sards surprise beachgoers at Rocky Bay

There is still a bit of sardine frenzy on the mid-South Coast.

A small net of sardines were brought ashore at Rocky Bay Beach on Monday morning this week. These were believed to have sold at R200 a crate.

Beachgoers reported a lot of dolphin and bird activity as well.

Later that afternoon, people were back in the water gathering sardines with their buckets.

Many locals said that they were excited to see the continuation of this year’s Sardine Run, and wonder if these unpredictable little silver fish will show up once more.
