Voting in the 2025 Best of South Coast competition closed on Monday this week and it’s now a countdown ‘count up’ until the 75 winners are announced in the South Coast Herald in due course.

This will be at a time still to be determined as there is a mountain of votes to get through.

Staff at auditors Chantel Elliott & Co have had their hands full adding up the numbers, especially with there being so many new categories this year. Entry forms poured in daily during the voting process and now the auditors are tallying up the numbers to determine the winner in each of the 75 categories.

“The voting has been phenomenal this year,” said Paula Ernst of Chantel Elliott & Co. “We have been counting like crazy.” Local businesses are eager to see the results, waiting on tenterhooks for that special call from one of the Herald’s sales executives to hear the words ‘you are a winner’!

Each winner will receive a Best of South Coast certificate which they can proudly display. Competition convener Shannon Trollip thanked readers for voting for their favourite businesses. “Keep an eye on the Herald for details on when the official announcement will be made. The numbers are being crunched and it’s a very exciting time as we look forward to announcing the winners as soon as possible,” she said.
