Security upgrade? Sugar mill gets a mamba ‘guard’

No match for the pro – another black mamba safely removed in Marburg.

Local snake catcher Sarel van der Merwe responded to a call-out at the sugar mill in Marburg yesterday (Wednesday) after a large black mamba was spotted near the entrance gate.

A cool-headed rescue – Sarel van der Merwe secures the uninvited ‘security guard’.

“The highly venomous snake appeared to be making itself at home, perhaps auditioning as the mill’s new security guard,” joked Sarel.
