Temporary road closure on R102 between Rethman Drive and Port Shepstone

The roadworks form part of the department’s commitment to improving road infrastructure in the region.

Motorists are advised of a temporary closure of Main Road P3-1 (R102) from the Rethman Drive intersection to Port Shepstone (Mzimkhulu River bridge) to allow for rehabilitation works.

According to Jamjo Civils (Pty) Ltd, working on behalf of the KZN Department of Transport, the closure will take place from Monday, August 25 until Friday, December 12.

The roadworks form part of the department’s commitment to improving road infrastructure in the region.

During this period:
* Light motor vehicles will be diverted via Link Road.
* Heavy motor vehicles will be diverted via Commercial Road.
* Adequate signage and traffic control will be in place to guide motorists.
* Pedestrian access will be maintained where possible.
* A stop-go system will allow 24-hour access to the Port Shepstone Country Club.

Road users are urged to plan their journeys accordingly and allow for additional travel time.
The department and its contractors apologise for any inconvenience and thank the public for their cooperation.
