Four arrested – firearms, knives and bakkie recovered in Harding
The Port Shepstone Saps K9 Unit deployed a patrol dog, tracked a positive spoor and successfully arrested one of the fleeing men.
Swift teamwork between Maser Security, the Port Shepstone Saps K9 Unit and the Harding Task Team led to the arrest of four men in the Harding area on Friday, August 22.
Maser Security raised the alarm after spotting a suspicious white Colt bakkie loitering near a local bed and breakfast.
Intelligence suggested that the vehicle’s occupants were planning an attack on a person staying at the establishment.

The Port Shepstone Saps K9 Unit was immediately deployed, with members of Maser Security and Harding Saps providing backup.

On arrival at the scene, three men were arrested, while a fourth fled into a nearby forest.

A Norinco 9mm pistol (serial number filed off)

16 rounds of live ammunition

Three cellphones

Two Okapi knives

A white Colt single cab bakkie
All four men were detained and face charges relating to illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and dangerous weapons.
