Marburg Secondary is tops in Rotary Club of Hibiscus Coast team talk competition

Each school was invited to enter one or two teams of three learners from Grades 10 and 11.

Rotary Club of Hibiscus Coast hosted its annual team talk competition at Hoërskool Suid-Natal recently.

Seven schools participated in this year’s competition – Gamalakhe Commercial High, Port Shepstone High, Port Shepstone Secondary, Marburg Secondary, Port Shepstone Islamic School, Creston College and Hoërskool Suid-Natal.

Each school was invited to enter one or two teams of three learners from Grades 10 and 11.

Teams had to pick a subject of their choice, research and present it, explaining the problem and a solution.

The most outstanding speaker was Afikile Nzama from Gamalakhe Commercial High. She received a gift voucher donated by Ramsgate Stationers and a floating trophy.

The most exceptional team was Marburg Secondary under the guidance of Rashina Bansee. They received vouchers from Ramsgate Stationers donated by the Rotary Club of Hibiscus Coast.

The runners-up were Port Shepstone Islamic School’s Team 1 under the guidance of teacher Rajeni Ravinad. They also received Ramsgate Stationers vouchers donated by Rotary.

This competition was started 42 years ago by the Rotary Club of Durban Umgeni and has spread throughout KZN.
