Heritage camp promotes culture among youth
The youth got involved in activities including a cultural quiz, Indian traditional games, chanting and much more.
An educational camp aimed at promoting Hinduism among the youth was held at the Arya Samaj Hall recently.
The Hindu Heritage Camp was a day event for youth, aged between eight and 18. The aim was to unite and strengthen the Hindu community while promoting ideals, spiritual values, yoga and meditation.
The camp was well supported and organisers were glad to see youth from other religious faiths attending. Youth got involved in activities including a cultural quiz, Indian traditional games, chanting and much more.
Meals were prepared by the Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir which was enjoyed by all.
Veena Lakhan said the camp featured an array of fun, educational and inspirational activities such as yoga, quizzes, games, mantra chanting and moral stories.
“The event was a resounding success. With the guidance of Sandip Paithankar from Mumbai, India, this was our second camp in Port Shepstone. The camp is also held annually in Tongaat ,Verulam and Springfield, attracting many avid participants.”
