Bringing self-care to the mid-South Coast

There will be inspiring talks and mini makeovers.

In a time when mental health has become a critical focus for people of all ages, it’s clear that maintaining a healthy and happy lifestyle requires more than just the basics.

This is the vision behind Self-Care Saturdays, an exciting new series of events launching on September 20, spearheaded by Laverne de Jager and Mercia Adams, in Pennington.

Kirsty Pope, a well-respected leader in the South Coast community, mother, wife and pastor, is the first invited guest speaker for this series.

“We are honoured to have her share her insights on self-care, resilience and the importance of community support,” said Laverne.

Attendees will indulge in sumptuous dishes prepared by award-winning Chef Kayla-Ann, while enjoying mini makeovers provided by Mooiste Meisie, a locally made proudly SA make-up brand.

These experiences will be complemented by inspiring stories and uplifting self-care advice from everyday women in the community, creating an environment of connection and encouragement.

“We want to create a space where everyone feels supported in their journey towards mental, emotional and spiritual peace,” added Mercia.

Future events will include self defence classes, pilates and more inspiring talks from community leaders.
