Oscar encourages entries for litter awareness competition

All schools are invited to enter the Uvongo litter awareness competition.

Oscar the octopus is once again spreading an important message – it’s time to take part in this year’s Litter Awareness Competition.

The competition, which highlights the dangers and impact of littering and waste on the environment, invites participants to submit their creative entries before this Saturday (13th).

Oscar reminds everyone that this initiative is not about winning or producing perfect art pieces – it’s about being part of the solution.
The aim is to spark conversation and awareness around the environmental consequences of littering while encouraging people to think of innovative ways to tackle waste.

The Uvongo Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association is calling on local schools to take part in its competition, aimed at promoting environmental responsibility.

There are two exciting categories: poster creation to encourage the public not to litter or trash sculptures that showcase creative reuse of discarded items.
More than R7000 in prizes is up for grabs, including solar light units for the winning schools.

To enter, contact Greta on 082 3314909 or Cathy on 062 0793225.
