The search for Lihle Kahla (23), who went missing in Port Shepstone on Sunday evening, September 21, continues as family, friends and the community grow increasingly concerned for her safety.

Lihle, who lives in Umtentweni was supposed to return home, but never arrived.

She was last seen near the Port Shepstone Country Club at about 19:00, after crossing the bridge to visit shops in town.

Her sister, Anita, said Lihle had first walked to Abingdon Spar in Tweni, but it was closed.

“She then decided to walk to town as it was just a short distance away. Two people later spotted her on her way back to Umtentweni – and they were the last known to have seen her. Her phone was switched off later that evening at about 22:00.”

Anita said they have searched tirelessly in the days since her disappearance – combing through bushes, the golf course, the railway line, beach and surrounding areas – but no trace of her has been found.

“At the time she went missing, Lihle was wearing red shorts and a navy golf T-shirt with white stripes on the shoulders,” she said.

It has now been five days since she vanished, and her family is desperate for answers.

A heartfelt message shared on Facebook by a close friend reads:

“Missing Person Alert! My dear friend, Lihle Kahla went missing yesterday while she was at Port Shepstone. She was supposed to return home, but 24 hours have passed and we haven’t heard from her. If anyone has seen her or has any information about her whereabouts, please DM me or contact her mother at 078 602 6857. Her family is extremely worried, and every bit of help counts! Let’s work together to bring her home safely! Please share this post with friends and family to help us spread the word!”
