Charities to benefit from Rotary Club of Hibiscus Coast’s Grannies’ Walk

It's the club's main fundraiser.

The Rotary Club of Hibiscus Coast held its 39th Grannies’ Walk at St Michael’s Beach last Sunday morning.

The 4km walk started from C-Bali to Uvongo and back.

Kate Brazier with Rusty and Deborah Brazier with Nala won best dressed.

President of Rotary, Simoné Lötter, said it’s one of the club’s biggest fundraisers with big sponsors.

“This is our main fundraiser and we use these funds to support charities in different communities.”

Andrew Spence was the second man to finish and Deborah Berridge the first woman home.

It mainly supports Margate Child Welfare, Lower South Coast SPCA, schools, creches, and villages.

Even though 300 people were expected, about half of the number participated, it nonetheless was a good turn out.
