Umdoni mayor proud of Pennington’s Blue Flag beach
The municipality thanks all stakeholders involved in assisting achieve the milestone.
Umdoni Municipality places on record how proud it is of the continued recognition of Pennington beach achieving Blue Flag Status for the second consecutive year, alongside pilot Blue Flag accreditation for four additional beaches: Mtwalume, Rocky Bay, Scottburgh and Preston.
“This achievement marks a significant milestone in the 2025/26 financial year, reinforcing Umdoni’s commitment to elevating tourism standards and environmental excellence across the region,” said communications manager, Sphelele Cele.
The accolades were officially received by Mayor Mbali Cele-Luthuli in Port Alfred recently.
“The hard work to elevate the Umdoni beaches to an international standard has proven successful,” said Cele-Luthuli.
“As the festive season approaches, both residents and visitors can look forward to enjoying safe, clean, and environmentally responsible beaches across the Umdoni coastline.”
The municipality also thanks all stakeholders involved in assisting Umdoni achieve the milestone.
