Motorists advised of road closures between Sezela and Park Rynie

This will be on the N2 north and south bound between the Sezela and Park Rynie interchanges.

The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (Sanral) has announced temporary road closures on the N2 north and south bound between the Sezela and Park Rynie interchanges.

This is for the commissioning of the South Coast Water Pipeline on the N2 Umzinto River bridge, from November 19 to 26.

The construction of the pipeline by uMngeni-uThukela Water is expected to bring much needed relief in terms of water supply to the South Coast region.

To ensure the highest safety standards during its first live commissioning, controlled short-duration closures on both carriageways will be implemented.

“Commissioning a pipeline of this scale across a live national route requires precise coordination, strict safety protocols, and short controlled shutdowns,” stated Sanral.

“These closures are designed to ensure the safety of road users, construction teams and technical personnel working directly on the bridge.”

The temporary road closures will take place as follows:
Morning closure – N2 north and south bound: daily from 10:00 to 10:30, Wednesday, November 19 to Wednesday, November 26.

Midday closure – N2 north and south bound: daily from 13:00 to 13:30, Wednesday, November 19 to Wednesday, November 26.

Afternoon closure – N2 north and south bound: daily from 15:00 to 15:30, Wednesday, November 19 to Wednesday, November 26.
