Dixie Nciki of Umuziwabantu elected deputy mayor for Ugu

The position was uncontested and all parties welcomed her inaugural during a council meeting earlier today at the Ugu Sports and Leisure.

Dixie Nciki, the former mayor of Umuziwabantu Local Municipality, has been elected at the deputy mayor for Ugu District Municipality, replacing Mandla Chiya.

Chiya was placed on ‘leave’ from last year and was later dismissed by the municipality.

The position was uncontested and all parties welcomed her inaugural during a council meeting at Ugu Sports and Leisure earlier today.

Nciki has served the municipality as the executive committee member, chairing Sound Governance and Human Resources Portfolio Committee within Ugu.

Speaker Sizwe Ngcobo congratulated Nciki and expressed confidence in her leadership skills.
