Kindness leads to wheelchair handover

Tags and caps really do make a difference.

A little act of kindness goes a long way.

To make a difference, Ugu District Employee Health and Wellness unit together with the Station Peer Educators and members of Saps have been diligently collecting bottle caps and bread clips over the months.

Their concerted efforts culminated in the handing over of a brand-new wheelchair from the Sathya Sai Centre last Thursday.

They will in turn hand over the bottle caps and bread tags to the Sweetheart Foundation who sell the tags and caps to recyclers in order to give the gift of mobility to the poor and often forgotten members of society.

Shamilla Badrinath of the Sathya Sai Centre spoke eloquently on the importance of preserving and protecting the environment for future generations by simply recycling and being conscious of the life around in plants and animals.
