Christmas party to bring joy to children in Umtentweni
Donations needed are stationery, toys, storybooks, clothing and lunch items, though anything that could make a child’s day a little brighter is welcome.
This year’s Bendigo Children’s Christmas Party has become a lifeline of joy for children who need it most.
The Christmas party is a community project spearheaded by the Food Drive team leader, Maggie Sloan from Southport.
Hosted at Rene’s Flea Market in Umtentweni on Saturday, December 20, the event runs from 09:00 to 12:00 and is driven entirely by volunteers who are committed to creating a warm, festive and memorable morning for local youngsters.
At the heart of the initiative is the Bendigo Children’s Christmas Tree – a simple idea that has grown into a symbol of generosity. Residents are invited to place gifts and essentials under the tree, all of which will be handed out at the party so that every child receives something meaningful this festive season.
Donations most needed this year include stationery, toys, storybooks, clothing and lunch items, though anything that could make a child’s day a little brighter is welcome.
