Mayors’ festive season messages

The mayors of Ugu District and the four local municipalities wish communities well.

As 2025 comes to a close, the mayors of Ugu District and the four local municipalities – Ray Nkonyeni, Umzumbe, Umdoni and Umuziwabantu wish communities well over the festive season.

Ugu District Municipality mayor Skhumbuzo ‘Zero’ Mqadi: “We are going to have a busy holiday. We urge people to behave, stay and love their families, without any fighting. Those who will be travelling must behave, so we can avoid road accidents.”

Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality mayor Zodwa Mzindle: “I encourage everyone to embrace the true spirit of this season by showing kindness, compassion and support to those in need. Let us also prioritise safety, please do not drink and drive, avoid walking on roads while under the influence, and never mix alcohol with swimming. Your life, and the lives of others matter.”

Umzumbe Local Municipality mayor Bongani Nyuswa: “Christmas is a time for enjoyment with the family and exchanging of gifts. May you have a blessed Christmas and new year full of blessings. As we head into 2026, we go with one aim to help the people of Umzumbe.”
