No injuries in house fire in Pennington
The flames were successfully extinguished, followed by a damping–down and overhaul to ensure the scene was safe.
High alert responders were able to successfully put out a house fire in Pennington last Monday, before the situation took an even bigger turn for the worst.
The Gladiator Security and Fire Rescue team responded to the scene, and on arrival, discovered that the structure was already well alight.
Responders gained entry and began fire suppression operations where gas bottles and lithium–ion batteries were discovered inside the garage.
With support from Umdoni Fire, the flames were successfully put out, followed by thorough damping–down and overhaul to ensure the scene was made safe.

Although there was a bit of fire damage, no one was injured.
Gladiator Security Services wishes to remind communities about the importance of fire safety in the home.
With regards to gas bottles, always store gas cylinders upright and in a well–ventilated area. Never keep gas bottles near heat sources or enclosed spaces, and regularly check for leaks and ensure hoses and regulators are maintained.
With lithium–ion batteries, avoid charging batteries unattended or overnight; only use certified/approved chargers; replace damaged or swollen batteries immediately and keep batteries away from flammable materials.
The local responders stated that home fires can escalate rapidly, especially when hazards like gas cylinders and lithium batteries are present. Simple precautions can prevent major incidents and protect your loved ones. So stay safe, and stay alert.
