Kingsley Symcox is an inspiration
The 10-year-old grew his hair to donate to Cansa, to help provide wigs for cancer patients.
For the past two years Kingsley Symcox (10) has grown his hair, all for a worthy cause.
The long hair did nothing to stop him enjoying his surfing, nippers and hockey and all the other adventures he gets up to with his dad Russel and older brother Harvey.
But now it’s gone, cut off for Cansa, to help provide wigs for cancer patients.
Kingsley’s mom, Olivia, gave special thanks to Yolandi Prinsloo’s sons Bastiaan and Reghardt, who inspired him to go through with this.
“We are proud of him because, like most people, we have had numerous loved ones with cancer journeys,” she said.
Nischal Surajlall, a cancer survivor who works at Rainbow Oncology, gratefully accepted Kingsley’s hair and shared his journey with him.
Olivia also thanked Sandi Vincent who does Cansa cuts at no cost.
Kingsley hopes that his good deed will inspire more people jump onto the bandwagon and grow and donate their hair for wigs.
A ponytail of 25cm or more is ideal for a wig, but even 15cm can help with fillers.
