Fashion and faith come to the fore at Stonecroft in Shelly Beach

Speaker Liz Jones spoke about the armour of God, among other things.

Sue Francis and Yvonne Govender of Miladys brought their stunning autumn fashions to the March meeting of Stonecroft Ministries.

These were paraded to a packed hall by the delightful Stonecroft models.

The audience were most responsive and Sue and Yvonne’s detailed comments on the garments enhanced the appreciation of the gorgeous garments on display.

A delicious tea was provided and served by the Methodist Women’s Auxiliary and as usual was enjoyed by the members.

Staying with the clothing theme, Liz Jones gave an uplifting and joyful talk on the importance of one’s spiritual clothing, saying ‘clothing is good but it is what is inside us that is more important’.

Quoting from Ephesians chapter 6 she stressed the importance of daily putting on the full armour of God from top to toe – the helmet of salvation, sword of the spirit, belt of truth, shield of faith and shoes of the gospel of peace.

She said that the the Lord is always faithful and is with her, especially in her time of recent ill health and hospitalisations.

Liz reiterated that He has all of our backs, particularly in our hard and difficult times.

Liz concluded by saying that every single day we need to be thankful for His Love and His incredible grace and that ‘the joy of the Lord is our strength’, laugh more, encourage and help others go out and shine for Jesus.

The next meeting will be at Shelly Beach Methodist Church on Friday, April 17 at 09:30.
