Port Shepstone temples to observe Varalakshmi prayer
The special prayer will be observed on August 21 and includes hawan, devotional offerings, and the traditional tying of sacred strings.
Hindu temples in the Port Shepstone area will observe Varalakshmi Vratham prayer on August 21.
Varalakshmi prayer, or Varalakshmi Vratham, is a sacred Hindu ritual dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi. Devotees pray for good health, wealth, wisdom, and family harmony.
The prayer will be observed at the following temples: Umbango Sri Siva Soobramoniar Alayam at 18:00, Port Shepstone and District Tamil Association at 18:00, and the Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir at 18:00.
The special Friday observance includes hawan, devotional offerings, and the traditional tying of sacred prayer strings.

* The Shree Hanuaman Sanathan Dharma Sabha will observe Naag Panchami on August 17 at 18:00. Gita Week and Krishna Janmashtami will be observed from August 28 to September 3.
