Scottburgh animal rescue appeals for support
The organisation is appealing for financial donations of any size to help cover ongoing costs.
4 Paws and a Tale Rescue is appealing to animal lovers across the KZN South Coast to help keep its doors open to animals in need.
The organisation says it urgently needs funding for food, medical care, sterilisation, and day-to-day running costs.
The Scottburgh-based animal rescue works on the frontline of animal welfare, rescuing and rehoming abandoned, abused and neglected animals. The team also assists stray animals and pets belonging to families in local townships and underprivileged communities – all on a volunteer basis with no government funding.
“We help where we can, but at the moment we need the community to stand behind us,” says founder Nicky Koekemoer. “There are always animals in desperate need, and the costs add up quickly. Our charity shop simply isn’t covering the mounting costs, and we don’t want to turn any animal away because we don’t have the funds to help it.”
Donations to help cover ongoing costs will be appreciated. The organisation also welcomes support through its charity shop, Tale End in Thira Village, which accepts quality second-hand goods for resale. Income generated through the shop helps fund ongoing work.

How you can help 4 Paws and a Tale Rescue:
1. Donate funds to assist with urgent sterilisation procedures.
2. Drop off quality second-hand items at the Tale End Charity Shop, 142 Scott Street, Scottburgh – or come in and support the store.
3. Donate pet food, blankets, or kennels in good condition to help keep animals warm this winter.
