Mixed results for PE Primary’s sports teams

Thanks to Izotsha Primary for both hosting matches at home, and for bringing teams to the school.

Port Edward Primary‘s U11 and U13 netball, rugby and hockey teams played in several mid-week matches against Izotsha Primary last week, with mixed results.

Competition was tough, but the players showed enormous determination and have grown considerably in skill and stamina since the beginning of the season.

Special congratulations to the U13s – the hockey boys and netball girls won their respective matches, and rugby boys and hockey girls both drew their games. Thanks to Izotsha for both hosting matches at home, and for bringing teams to the school.

The Grade 3 learners put on a wonderful performance for the ‘Pro-Deo Care Group’ at the Port Edward Methodist Church last Thursday. This non-profit, volunteer organisation works with elderly community members.
Learners spent the morning entertaining the group with songs, dancing and short fairy-tale plays. Thanks to Grade 3 educators, Amy-Lyn Cook and Christine Muller, as well as Reading Champions assistants, Esmari Taljaard and Thusiwe Ngcungama, for putting together such a delightful programme and providing some joy to the elderly folk.
