Track Torque: Vettel looks to extend supremacy

It should be hot and dry at the South Korean grand prix this weekend.

SEBASTIAN Vettel is now 60 points ahead of his nearest rival Fernando Alonso and nearly a 100 points ahead of Lewis Hamilton who is in third position, yet the battle isn’t over and his opponents continue to hunt him down unceasingly.

It must be a measure of the man, plus a little luck, that Vettel is a full 117 points ahead of his teammate Mark Webber, a top driver himself, in the identical car.

Although it looks increasingly as if Vettel is going to win the championship there are at least two men who can still can beat him, namely Alonso in the Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes.

This weekend’s race should be a hot, dry one at The Korea International Circuit located in Yeongam, South Jeolla, South Korea. Both Ferrari drivers will be giving it a full go as Alonso remains a championship contender and Felipe Massa has his career at stake and will be driving for his life.

The anticlockwise track is a medium speed which should be more open to everyone. At Mercedes, both Hamilton and Nico Rosberg have a chance of winning the race, especially if they look after their tyres.

Other possible race winners are Webber, Kimi Raikkonnen and Romain Grosjean.

We can also expect good performances from Jenson Button in an improving McLaren, Nico Hulkenberg in the Sauber, Sergio Perez in the other McLaren and Adrian Sutil in the Force India, Paul di Resta and Daniel Ricciardo in the Torro Rosso Ferrari.

Bernie Eccelstone has just come out with a comment that 1.6 turbo cars next year will even up performances and not let Vettel have things his own way. We all can look forward to that.

Qualifying is at 7am this Saturday, October 5 and the race starts at 8am this Sunday, October 6.
