Track Torque: Sublime seven from Sebastian

The man is a genius and deserves the admiration.

SEBASTIAN Vettel drove another blistering race to take the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race last Sunday. It means he has now won his last seven races in a row.

Poleman Mark Webber made a slow getaway while quad world champion Vettel went into the lead and started gaining.

He did this relentlessly until he had a 30-second gap with less than half the race gone, he then stroked it to the finish with a typical fastest lap to the end.

The man is a genius and deserves the admiration. Mark Webber at least served the purpose of fending off the opposition by way of Nico Rosberg in his Mercedes and Romain Grosjean in the Lotus.

Behind them, Lewis Hamilton had brake issues which started on the formation lap. He ended up behind Fernando Alonso and Paul di Resta while Felipe Massa, who had been ahead of teammate Alonso for a long time, ended up behind Hamilton.

Alonso had switched to soft tyres on lap 44 and went electric, setting several fastest laps as he sliced through the field to his fifth position – a great effort!

Poor Kimi Raikkonen was the only non-finisher after hitting the back of Van der Garde’s Caterham on the first lap and damaging his right front suspension, so that was the end of his race.

We now have a gap of 14 days before the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. The final race is seven days later at Sao Paulo, Brazil on November 24.
