AFTER 18 years at the same rehab centre, my position is cut. Several other coworkers are in the same boat. And while the agency assures reassignments, none have yet posted, and there are no guarantees these new positions will prosper anyone.
This situation is extremely stressful, and the tension in my workplace is palpable. I try to rely wholly on the Lord and His promise to prosper me.
It works during my prayer time, but then I take back the worry and stress. As I get up for work, tension returns. I take my eyes off of the Lord. I then see only what the world let’s me see.
If I am going to survive, I must constantly remind myself of His plan for me. I don’t know what it is, but I must promise to stand on His promise. If I don’t, I am lost. And God does not want me lost because He has something important for me – regardless of what my agency does.
And so I promise to stand on His promise. Before bed, I will affirm He will soon give me a glimpse at what is coming my way!
Each morning, I will proclaim His love and protection! Oh, my Lord will grant me a new attitude in stressful times – an attitude of hope because I know He has my future under control.
Is your position at risk? Was it cut? Are you out of control? Just promise to stand on His promise. You, too, will gain an attitude of hope that matches the future He gives.
Yes, promise to stand on His promise. Then, wait and see!

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, I pray I will keep my eyes fixed on You throughout the workday. As I face trials, let me not forget You have a prosperous and hopeful plan for my life. For me – personally – Your plan! I will share freely Your promise with coworkers so they, too, can find comfort in You. In Your Son’s name, I pray. Amen.
