Notice: Parents of children in care sought

According to social worker Ntokozo Mzobe, they are looking for the parents of Banele Caluza who was left by her mother, Dora Caluza, while she was visiting the Qinabout area in November 2021.

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Social Development is looking for the parents of children who are currently in their care.

According to social worker Ntokozo Mzobe, they are looking for the parents of Banele Caluza who was left by her mother, Dora Caluza, while she was visiting the Qinabout area in November 2021. Mzobe said the child was placed at Give A Child A Family in January via the Port Shepstone Children’s Court.

She added that another child is Amahle Thoyana, saying that the child was left by her mother with a neighbour, Nombulelo Gumede.

“The child was removed from Gumede’s home since her children were not happy with the child staying there. The child was then placed at Inathi CYCC in February via the Port Shepstone Children’s Court,” said Mzobe.

She added that there is also Abongile Nongqina, who was left by her mother (Andiswa Nongqina) at her father’s home with her grandmother, Thokozile Sithole.
Mzobe said Abongile’s father, Nkosinathi Sithole, died in February 2010.

“The child was placed in the foster care of her paternal grandmother in May 2013 through the Port Shepstone’s Children’s Court,” said Mzobe, adding that anyone with information on the whereabouts of any of these parents, should contact her on 039 318 2552.
