Bowling for the SPCA

The SPCA relies heavily on the support of local business and generous individual donors.

Close to R8 460 was raised for the Lower South Coast SPCA during a fundraising event held at Riverside Bowling Club in Uvongo on Friday.

Amanda Ellis of Seeff Properties said the fundraising event was done in collaboration between Haval Shelly Beach, Wolf Security, and Seeff Properties.

“It was decided that we should organise a fun event for businesses to raise money and collect pet food for the SPCA. We raised nearly R8 640 and a load of pet food and blankets,” said Amanda.

Meanwhile, Mike Davis of the Lower South Coast SPCA said he was extremely grateful to the businesses and individuals who came forward to support the initiative made possible by Amanda.

He said SPCA’s mandate is the prevention of cruelty to all animals in the local area of jurisdiction.

Mike said staff cover a massive area, cater to areas from Hibberdene to Bizana and inland to Harding.

“The SPCA is reliant on donations from businesses and community to continue this vital service to the voiceless and vulnerable animals who also form part of our community,” he said.
