Man in court for unlicensed firearms

He will appear in the Hibberdene Magistrate’s Court on these new charges.

A 32-year-old man was recently arrested for being in possession of two unlicensed firearms, unlicensed ammunition, drugs and suspected stolen property.

According to Port Shepstone police spokesperson, Captain Petros Mpinge, members from Ugu District Operational Command Centre received information on Saturday, October 22 and proceeded to a residence near Radebe Store, Mfazazane in Hibberdene.

“This is where a 32-year-old man was arrested. He was found to be in possession of two unlicensed firearms, unlicensed ammunition, drugs and suspected stolen property. Initial investigations revealed that the suspect was out on bail for possession of a firearm.

He will appear in the Hibberdene Magistrate’s Court on these new charges,” said Mpinge, adding that the public is encouraged to continue reporting criminal activities to the police.
