‘Creating compassion among educators’

The principals discussed the four performance standards as set out in the quality management system.

The Department of Education in the Ugu District recently hosted a principals’ meeting at Berea Technical College with the purpose to create awareness, understanding and acceptance in educators and school managements teams.

During the meeting, the principals discussed the four performance standards as set out in the quality management system which are creation of positive – learning environment, curriculum knowledge – lesson planning and presentation, learner assessments and achievement; and professional development.

Also, the principals also discussed the effects of Covid-19 on teaching and the country in need of skilled artisans and trade people.
The Department of Education praised the principals from the Ugu District which introduced the new three-stream model into the curriculum.
