Alleged burglar electrocuted on roof

Police are investigating an inquest case.

An alleged burglar was electrocuted and died while trying to gain entry to a local business on Monday last week.

According to Port Shepstone police spokesperson, Captain Petros Mpinge, members of SAPS Port Shepstone Search and Rescue together with Ray Nkonyeni Fire and Rescue were called out to a scene of a local business where the body of an alleged burglar was found precariously positioned on the roof.

“It seems that the man was trying to gain access through the roof and was allegedly electrocuted. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death,” said Mpinge, adding that police are investigating an inquest case.
