‘Zweli Mkhize for ANC President’- ANC Youth League

Mkhize said in addition, they agreed on the need to ensure that they have a youthful ANC NEC that will be seized with the task of putting this country on a new trajectory of socio-economic development.

African National Congress Youth League National Youth Task Team (ANCYL NYTT) has identified leaders who will champion the cause of young people and ensure the rebuilding and transformation of the economy.

Over the next few weeks, as the African National Congress Youth League National Youth Task Team (ANCYL NYTT), we will be rallying young people across all corners of the Republic of South Africa as the ANC approaches its 54th national elective conference.
The ANCYL NYTT said they have agreed that young lions must be an integral part of all processes that will ensure that this organisation emerges from this gathering with a clear implementation plan of its progressive policies and resolutions that will be adopted.

ANC NYTT spokesperson, Sizophila Mkhize said they will convene a meeting on matters on policy and constitutional amendments as a mandate that will be given to 40 delegates of the ANCYL in the National Conference.

Mkhize said in particular, the rebuilding and transformation of the economy, with young people being central, is their main focus moving forward.

“In this regard, as NYTT, we deliberated on the type of leaders we believe should be elected during the national conference to be held in December. Through our robust engagement, over the weekend and yesterday in particular, we agreed that we must elect leaders that will ensure that young people’s potential is harnessed in order to guarantee the acceleration of socio-economic development throughout the corners of this country. We need a leadership that will end loadshedding, which has crippled our economy, ensure access to land and transform the financial sector for the benefit of young people and indigenous people,” said Mkhize, adding that they want an ANC President who will work with the collective, the alliance partners and all youth structures to resuscitate the old ANC culture that made no one feel alienated from the ANC for whatever reason.

Mkhize said young people want Zweli Mkhize as ANC President, Paul Mashatile as Deputy President, Stanley Mathabatha as National Chair, Fikile Mbalula as Secretary General, Nomvula Mokonyane as the Deputy Secretary and Pule Mabe as Treasurer General.

Mkhize said in addition, they agreed on the need to ensure that they have a youthful ANC NEC that will be seized with the task of putting this country on a new trajectory of socio-economic development.
