Ugu celebrates staff’s achievements

A ceremony was held by Ugu District Municipality at the Uvongo Town Hall to celebrate the employees.

More than 25 employees of Ugu District Municipality received certificates from universities that partner with the municipality’s Corporate Services Unit for skills development.

According to the municipality, the staff was delighted to have received certificates after having completed either their annual and or long-term qualifications in Municipal Finance Management Planning, Plumbing, and so forth.

A ceremony was held by Ugu District Municipality at the Uvongo Town Hall to celebrate the employees.

Speaking at the ceremony, Corporate Services General Manager, Vela Mazibuko said he and his team believed strongly in capacity building and ensuring staff were trained in their fields or fields of interest.

“We would like to encourage all staff to further their studies, not only to improve their own knowledge but to better serve our communities,” he said.

Ugu District Municipality Speaker of Council, Sizwe Ngcobo congratulated all those who have furthered their studies and wished them well on their journeys.

Ngcobo also thanked Stellenbosch University for partnering with Ugu District Municipality as well as various departments who played a pivotal role.
