Ugu karate team shines in Newcastle

The team enjoyed a landslide victory winning gold in Kata.

The Ugu karate team brought back home a cup from the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) Games.
The trophy was shared between full-contact and semi-contact karateka.

Ugu semi-contact karate team competed in both Kata and Kumite at Newcastle.
The team enjoyed a landslide victory winning gold in Kata.

However, the team drew their fights but lost to the silver medallist and secured a bronze medal.
The team was led by Sensei Grant Selkon as coach and Sensei Eden as team manager.

The Ugu Karate team included Eden Jackson, Katelyn Evans, Ilhaam Amod, Shihan Coenie Vrey, Lydia Naidoo, Emir Sahli, Sensei Grant Selkon, Jayden Voster, Ethan Pillay and Shihan Frank Moodley.
