Letter to the editor: ‘No to gender confusion’
The Department of Basic Education must withdraw their plan of Socio-Educational inclusion of "Diverse sexual orientation, gender identity expression" this does not exist.
Dear editor,
I am Khanyile Majola, I am a concerned parent on the issue of sexuality in schools.
I think that the Department of Basic Education in South Africa is undermining God, Science and Parents and ultimately insulting the intelligence of the young kids in the schools.
You cannot initiate into learning such a controversial aspect of sexuality just because you want to include the LGBTQI+ in the curriculum.
The Department of Basic Education must withdraw their plan of Socio-Educational inclusion of “Diverse sexual orientation, gender identity expression” this does not exist.
Every child, by the age of three to five is already clear on what gender they are, and how they express. This is a biological marker and in sexuality, biological markers seems to be irrelevant in the LGBTQI+ (whatever alphabet they want to add).
I think this behavioral issue of gender confusion should not be taught in schools, to our children, it is a religion than anything else and we will not accept this type of religion to be taught to our children.
God created Adam and Eve, who are you to challenge that by imposing it on children? This is unacceptable, and we will challenge it to the latter.
No to gender confusion that you want to initiate. Teach it at your homes and stick to a pure curriculum without the pollution of gender and sexuality confusion.
