Duma condemns fabricated news on Operation Vula Fund

Duma added that they urge all business owners to be vigilant and to verify the authenticity of any news they receive regarding Operation Vula Fund.

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Siboniso Duma, has condemned the spread of fabricated news regarding the re-opening of Operation Vula Fund that has been circulating on social media and other platforms.

Duma said it has come to their attention that there are false claims that the second phase of Operation Vula Fund has been re-opened.
He said the claims are entirely untrue and are designed to mislead and exploit vulnerable businesses that are already grappling with economic adversities.

“KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs remain committed to supporting small businesses. The department will ensure that the public is well-informed about the re-opening of the second phase of Operation Vula Fund,” he said.
Duma added that they urge all business owners to be vigilant and to verify the authenticity of any news they receive regarding Operation Vula Fund.

“Do not be swayed by fake news or unverified sources that seek to take advantage of your situation. Always check the official departmental website and digital platforms for accurate information.
