Police warn against vigilantism

Criminal charges will be laid against the perpetrators of such acts.

Port Shepstone police spokesperson, Captain Petros Mpinge, said the SAPS is urging the public to refrain from acts of vigilantism.
Mpinge said criminal charges will be laid against the perpetrators of such acts.

“The public must contact the police or any other law enforcement agency to arrest a person who has allegedly committed a crime against them. They must not take the law into their own hands. Communities must communicate with their local Community Policing Forum (CPF) and report criminality to the police,” said Mpinge.
