Wreath laying ceremony for ‘Boro’

The ceremony was a build up to the Siyanqoba Rally for the ward 24 by-election held at Bhuqu Sportsfield on Sunday.

ANC Tolomane Mnyayiza Region (TMR) performed a wreath laying ceremony in remembrance of its fallen comrade Mlungisi ‘Boro’ Ngcobo.
The ceremony was a build up to the Siyanqoba Rally for the ward 24 by-election held at Bhuqu Sportsfield on Sunday.
Boro was a member of the ANC on the South Coast and a taxi boss who died in a hail of bullets after gunmen opened fire on the bakkie he was travelling in, in 2015.
He was with his daughter at the time of the incident but she survived the shooting.
Boro was an ANC Lower South Coast regional executive, deputy chairperson of a local taxi association and a senior employee at the then Hibiscus Coast Municipality.
It was unclear at the time if the murder was related to the taxi violence incidents that were going on at the time involving long-distance taxi operators transporting passengers between Durban and Port Shepstone.
The shooting happened on the main Harding/Kokstad Road towards Marburg, Port Shepstone.
The leadership of the ANC Tolomane Mnyayiza Region was accompanied by KZN ANC secretary, Bheki Mtolo.
