Three life sentences for repeat criminal
Ncane said Sikhona Dayi has a previous record for housebreaking, theft and possession of drugs.
Sikhona Dayi (36) was recently sentenced at the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court, to serve three life sentences.
According to Margate police spokesperson, Sergeant Sibu Ncane, Dayi who was out on parole for murder, raped a 14-year-old girl in Californica area in KwaNzimakwe in August 2018.
“He threatened to kill the girl if she spoke out after he forced her into the bushes on three occasions where he raped her. The accused was arrested by Port Edward police members shortly after the victim reported the rape to police and has been in police custody since. The investigating officer who took over the case was Detective Constable Thembile Sengane of the Margate Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS)” said Ncane.
Ncane said Dayi also has a previous record for housebreaking, theft and possession of drugs.
