Launch of local jazz club

There are also forms and an entry fee for individuals who would like to join the jazz club.

Lovers of jazz music are urged to attend the Khosathu House Jazz Club launch.

According to one of the organisers, Mondli Ngcobo, the launch will be held at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre on Sunday, April 30 from 3pm.
Ngcobo said the idea of forming a jazz club came after they recently attended a jazz session held in Margate.

“The young men who were in attendance got together and said that we should also have a club since we have young men who contribute to this type of music. In the past, we used to meet in one of the gentleman’s houses in Gamalakhe and have small sessions which is why we decided to form this club,” he said.

He added that the club aims to hold an event that will bring people together to play and listen to jazz music in a local area.
Ngcobo added that the aim is also to improve tourism in the Ugu district.

“Jazz lovers are requested to join us at this event. We have tied up the bands that will be playing music. Bring cooler boxes, meat, drinks, and more. For more on the event, contact 082 826 5430,” he said.

Ngcobo added that there are also forms and an entry fee for individuals who would like to join the jazz club, saying that interested individuals can contact Dana Mzele on 082 971 5001.
