Food packs for Umzumbe families

The Sihle Zikalala Development Trust was founded by the Minister Public Works and Infrastructure, Sihle Zikalala.

The Sihle Zikalala Development Trust in partnership with the Office of the Speaker of Ugu District Municipality recently donated 100 food packs to disadvantaged households in Wards 19 and 20 in Mthwalume.

Speaker of Ugu, Sizwe Ngcobo said as part of the initiative, the homes of the most vulnerable – unemployed parents, child-headed households, and the elderly who are supporting grandchildren were targeted.

The event was attended by Ngcobo, Mfundisi Cele of the Zulu Congressional Church, Professor Thokozani Nzimakwe, Thulani Mpanza, and Cllr Smangele Dlamini of Ward 20.

The Sihle Zikalala Development Trust was founded by the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Sihle Zikalala.

A board member of the Trust, Professor Nzimakwe said Sihle Zakalala established the Trust fund with the intention to assist less fortunate families.

Nzimakwe said Ugu speaker, Sizwe Ngcobo requested the Trust to help the families of Umzumbe Municipality, and Ward 19 and Ward 20 were accordingly identified.
Ngcobo said the initiative will bring relief to some families during these difficult economic times.
