Police recover two stolen cars

One vehicle had been reported stolen at Durban Central police station earlier this month.

Members of Saps Margate were recently performing patrols when they received information of a suspected stolen vehicle along Seaslopes in Manaba.

Margate police spokesperson, Sergeant Sibu Ncane, said the vehicle had been reported stolen at Durban Central police station earlier this month.
He added that police stopped the VW silver hatchback and arrested a 34-year-old man who recently made his first court appearance on June 12.

“Members of Saps Port Shepstone were performing crime prevention duties on Sunday, June 11 when they spotted a possible stolen vehicle that had been circulated. A 38-year-old suspect was arrested after failing to produce proof of ownership. The vehicle, a black VW hatchback was checked and it was revealed that it had been stolen in Berea, Durban in April,” said Ncane, adding that both vehicles were towed to the Saps pound where the Vehicle Crime Investigating Unit will continue with the investigations.
