Man (57) arrested for drug dealing

A number of small plastic bags containing crystal meth, a block suspected to be rock cocaine and mandrax powder were found.

A 57-year-old man appeared on a charge of drug possession and dealing in drugs at the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court recently.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Sibu Ncane said Margate police recently received valuable information and acted on it.
He said police searched a residence in Lionel Avenue, Margate where a number of small plastic bags containing crystal meth, a block suspected to be rock cocaine and mandrax powder were found.

“The case had been postponed to August 18,” said Ncane, adding that the community of Margate is thanked for reporting criminals and drug activities in their communities.
He said it was one way to clean up communities and make them safer as many crimes are perpetrated when someone is under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
