Woman in line for media award
Lungile Mbili was nominated along with legendary media personalities such as Baby Cele, Deli Malinga, Khwezi Ndlovu and Sine Nene.
The founder of uMlando Creatives, Lungile Mbili has been nominated in the Sebenza Women’s Awards 2023 in the Women in Media category.
Mbili was nominated along with legendary media personalities Baby Cele, Deli Malinga, Khwezi Ndlovu and Sine Nene.
She described uMlando Creatives as a media house that produces local content.
She said they have two shows on 1KZNTV, The Next Billionaire business show and KZN Sport, a sports show.
Mbili said she also does documentaries and live streams as she studied TV and film production at the Tshwane University of Technology.
Currently living in Margate, Mbili is originally from Newcastle.
“Being nominated alongside women I respect and who have been making it in the industry means a lot. Winning in this category would be the cherry on top,” she said.
According to the organisers, the annual Sebenza Women’s Awards is an event focused on rewarding women’s excellence and showcasing their brilliance, strength, and achievements.
They added that the event also pays special attention to the youth, game changers, and women from disadvantaged communities striving to make the world a better place.
“In a country where women have been previously disadvantaged, these awards aim to identify, shine the spotlight and reward female leaders, innovators, and game changers. Our purpose is to empower women, encourage them to do better, and increase their employability chances,” said the organisers.
