Donate cupcakes of hope
The initiative strives to create awareness and educate the public on the early warning signs of childhood cancer and to raise much-needed funds for children with cancer.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and this year, Cupcakes of Hope, a non-profit organisation, will be hosting National Cupcake Day on September 30 at malls across South Africa, including Shelly Centre.
The initiative strives to create awareness and educate the public on the early warning signs of childhood cancer and to raise much-needed funds for children with cancer.
This is predominantly done through the love of baking cupcakes and spreading cupcake love. At Shelly Centre, volunteers will be selling cupcakes for R10 each.
The event takes place outside the Woolworths court from 9am to 3pm.
The theme, this year, is Under the Sea.
The aim is to beat last year’s total of R2.1 million and Cupcakes of Hope is asking the public to donate cupcakes or supplies of baking ingredients, equipment, and/or monetary assistance towards this worthy cause.
